A Brockton Village front and back garden cleanup

Another small garden cleanup in the central Toronto neighbourhood of Little Portugal aka Brockton Village done over the past weekend.

Here are some before and after shots of the small front garden. The beds were full of overgrown ribbon grass, milkweed, and those weedy orange daylilies (Hemerocallis fulva).

In the backyard, the beds were infested with Lamb's Quarters (Chenopodium album), tree of heaven (Ailanthus) seedlings and wood sorrel (Oxalis acetosella).

Toronto garden cleanup: A Cabbagetown backyard before and after

A Cabbagetown backyard garden cleanup

My client, Willem, called me to clean up this Cabbagetown  backyard and path that were overrun with petty spurge (Euphorbia peplus), morning glory and grass seedlings. Here are some before and after shots of the clean up:

A Toronto garden clean up in the Victoria Village neighbourhood

Victoria Village, Toronto backyard and side yard garden clean up

Here are some before and after pictures of a garden clean up near the Lawrence and Victoria Park Ave. area. The back and side garden areas were infested with creeping bellflower, thistles, quack grass and lawn seedlings.

I dug out all the weeds to re-establish some new areas for new perennials and/or mulch. (I suggested to the client to remove the black plastic edging and trench edge for a cleaner look as well.)

Here's looking down the side of the house. A thick layer of cedar mulch would really reduce the amount of weeding in this unseen and unused area.
